Chapter Three (Religious Spiritual Cure )

Tolerance as a Quick Religious Treatment

It has been scientifically proven that the disturbed personality which suffers from chronic anxiety is not a tolerant one. It has not experienced the joy of forgiving and forgetting.

Allah’s Messenger (PGBUH) set many examples of tolerance and forgiveness which his companions followed. Allah says: ”Hold to forgiveness; Command what is right; But turn away from the ignorant”. He also says:” And the remission (of the man’s half) is the nearest to righteousness”.

Allah’s Messenger (PGBUH) said:” The best manners in this world and the afterlife is to call on the one who does not call on you, to give the one who deprives you, and to forgive the one who is unjust to you”.

You can train yourself to forgive and tolerate others by repeating the Quranic verses and the prophet’s sayings on controlling anger and by memorizing them. You can remember them during the seclusion session or even write them down on a piece of paper which you can read when feeling angry due to the many causes of our present age. For instance, people sometimes do not great each other or properly salute one another which often results in misunderstandings between them.
